Today was the day. Today was the day she was finally going to get him. She had this day planned for weeks. Nothing was going to be left up to chance.
She got dressed with only her goal in mind. Even as she ran down the stairs, all she could think about is him. All she needed to know as she got into her car was that she was only a few moments from being with him. She did not even have time to put on her seat belt before speeding out of her driveway and down the road. The cars passing by her could not break her focus.
As she pulled up to the brick building she did not wait to fully put her car in park

She ran through the suffocating darkness. There was no stealth in her step. Fallen leaves cracked and crinkled under her feet as she ran. She did not care that she was making noise; all she cared about was getting away from him. She just had to get away. Nothing else mattered.
As she ran, she felt a cold chill go down her spine. There was no use in running anymore. He was right behind her and she knew it.
She dropped to the ground in a pile of exhaustion. All she seemed able to do was gasp for air. She could not even look as he started to lean over her. She just went still, hoping that he would ju
